Trip Building

Plan the whole trip, not just the tee time.

Free — trip planning has no paywall

From the first crew chat to the final scramble, TrueLie carries the logistics so the crew can focus on golf — courses, lodging, tee times, and who owes who, all in one place.

Fair pairings, every round

On a multi-day trip, who plays with who matters. TrueLie handles the rotation so the same three guys aren't stuck together all weekend — unless that's the plan.

  • Set pairings manually, or let TrueLie rotate crews automatically across the trip
  • Tee times sync to each player's own calendar
  • Pairings can follow the day's format — teams for scramble, foursomes for alternate shot
Ties to Games

Pairings match the format

Set Friday to scramble teams and Saturday to alternate shot pairs, and the tee sheet reflects it automatically — no separate spreadsheet to keep in sync.

The whole weekend, day by day

A trip starts as a shell — dates, a destination, who's in — and fills in as plans firm up. Every course gets its own day and its own detail.

  • Build a multi-day itinerary with one entry per round
  • Attach each course from our database of 30,000+ courses, with rating and slope pulled in automatically
  • Everyone in the trip sees the same up-to-date schedule
  • Non-golf plans — dinners, travel days — slot into the same itinerary

Trips are created inside a crew, so the roster, handicaps, and history are already there — no re-inviting people or re-entering who's playing.

Good to know

30,000+ courses, rated automatically

Search any course in our database and its rating and slope come with it — no looking up numbers yourself or guessing at a fair handicap adjustment for an unfamiliar track.

Keep the logistics in one thread

The details that usually live in a scattered crew text — confirmation numbers, arrival times, who's driving — get a home next to the golf itself.

  • Add lodging details — address, check-in, and confirmation info
  • Track each player's arrival and departure so tee sheets match who's actually there
  • Split shared lodging and travel costs the same way as golf wagers
Design note

One source of truth

When plans change — a flight moves, a tee time gets pushed — updating it once in the trip keeps everyone's view current, instead of a scroll-back through old texts.

One tally for the whole trip

Shared costs and golf wagers both feed the same running total, so settling up happens once at the end of the trip instead of a dozen separate Venmo requests.

  • Log shared costs — lodging, carts, green fees, entry fees — split evenly or custom
  • Golf wagers from every round automatically add to the same ledger
  • One final settle-up screen shows exactly who owes who, and how much
Design note

Golf money and trip money, together

A skins loss and a lodging split are just two lines in the same ledger — nobody has to reconcile a golf app and a separate expense app after the trip.

Planning the trip is free. The moment a real dollar amount is logged — a lodging split, a skins payout — that's Settling Up, TrueLie's paid tier. It hands you a Venmo link with the amount pre-filled, so nobody has to do the math or send an awkward reminder.

A different format for every day

Trips aren't locked to one format. Assign whichever game fits each round, and the whole weekend builds toward a finale.

  • Scramble Friday, match play Saturday, Ryder Cup singles Sunday — all under one trip
  • Every format from the Games list is available on any day of the trip
  • A trip can run as its own mini Ryder Cup, points and all

A Full Ryder Cup

You don't have to wait until you're on the course to build the weekend. From the moment a trip is created, you can set it up as a full Ryder Cup:

  • Assign two captains and build the teams
  • Set tee times for every round of the trip up front
  • Pair players for each round — match play, best ball, alternate shot, scramble, or Vegas
  • Choose the format for each session before anyone's packed a bag

The whole weekend — pairings, tee times, and formats — is locked in before the trip even starts, and the points board tracks it live once you're playing.

Trophy Race

A Ryder Cup isn't the only option. The trip doesn't have to be a team format at all — set it up as a trip-long trophy race instead:

  • No captains or teams — every player competes for themselves
  • Every round played during the trip counts toward the standings
  • A live points leaderboard updates after each round
  • A champion is crowned, trophy and all, when the trip wraps

See the Ryder Cup & Trophies page for the full rundown of how each system scores.

Something to keep, after the clubs are packed away

Once the trip wraps, TrueLie can turn it into a keepsake — a Memory Card recapping the whole weekend, built automatically from what actually happened.

  • Final standings, best round of the trip, and any Ryder Cup or skins results, pulled together automatically
  • Highlights and biggest moments from the trip, called out on the card
  • Shareable with the crew, and saved to the trip's history for good

Memory Card

A keepsake of the trip

Think of it as the recap you'd actually want to keep — not a spreadsheet, a card built to remember the trip by.

Planning and playing the trip are free. The auto-generated Memory Card recap is part of Settling Up.
