Settling Up

Every dollar, one ledger, settled in a tap.

Planning a trip, playing a round, and tracking standings are free forever. The moment a real dollar amount gets logged — a lodging split, a skins payout — that's Settling Up. It's the line where TrueLie becomes a paid product.

One ledger, three ways to clear it

Everything that costs real money — trip expenses and golf wagers alike — lands in a single running ledger per trip or per crew. When it's time to settle, TrueLie gives you options instead of a spreadsheet.

  • Venmo deep link — opens Venmo with the recipient and amount pre-filled
  • QR code — for settling up in person, right on the 18th green
  • Mark as Paid — a manual toggle for cash, Zelle, or however your crew actually pays
  • Every entry is logged, so the crew ledger stays accurate even if a payment happens outside the app
Where the line is

Free to plan, play, and track

Trips, Crews, Games, and Ryder Cup & Trophies are free forever — the itinerary, the scoring, the standings, the trophy case. The moment a dollar figure needs to actually change hands, that's Settling Up.

Shared costs, split fairly

Lodging, carts, green fees, gas for the rental car — the costs of a trip that have nothing to do with golf scores still need to get divided up.

  • Log any shared cost and split it evenly, or set a custom split
  • Costs can be assigned to specific players — no charging someone for a room they didn't stay in
  • Every trip cost rolls into the same ledger as the golf wagers from that trip

Every wager, calculated for you

Skins carryovers, Nassau presses, Vegas point swings — the math behind a wager format can get genuinely hard to track by hand. Settling Up does it automatically as scores come in.

  • Any wager format from the Games list can carry a real dollar value
  • Carryovers, presses, and side bets are tracked live, hole by hole
  • The final tally is calculated the second the last putt drops — no recounting skins after the round

A running balance for the whole crew

Not every debt gets settled the same day it's earned. TrueLie keeps a standing balance per crew, so small amounts can carry until it's actually worth settling.

  • Every member sees their own running balance across the crew
  • Small wins and losses net out automatically instead of needing separate payments each time
  • Settle the whole balance at once, whenever the crew decides to clear it
